Benjamin Moore offer over 150 different shades of white, so which is the best one? Well, there is no straightforward answer to that, since it largely depends on the room you want to use it in, as well as the rest of the room finishes and the lighting that you have.

There is no 'one size fits all' white, but don't be daunted. If this is going to be for your home, you most likely want to stick with the warmer tones and avoid the cool tones, or your room may end up looking quite stark or clinical. If you have a fandeck or paint strip from the DIY store, you can tell if its warm or cool by looking at the most saturated color at one end of the strip. Stay closer to pink, orange & yellow undertones, and stay away from the greens and blues.

Don't go crazy with the samples or you will drive yourself nuts, stick to 3-4 samples and paint a swatch on the wall in the room in which it is going to be used. You will be surprised how another color can bring out the undertones in a white, and even next to each other, one will look more blue, or more pink, etc.

Live with the samples for a few days so you can see them in all types of light, and next to the furniture they will be with. Trust your instincts if you think something seems off. When in doubt, take a look at my top 10 designer favorites:
